In our last post, Unfortunate Ad placements,  we talked about the importance of Ad placement and highlighted some rather unfortunate examples where things didn’t go according to plan. Today we will have a look at some of the worlds greatest examples of creative ad placement.

Casino Di Venezia – Luggage claim roulette

Let’s start off with this great campaign from Marco Polo Airport in Venice. The campaign was for the promotion of the “Casino Di Venezia” and launched by the Italian advertising agency, Admcom. Something as boring as a luggage claim belts was turned in to a giant roulette wheel.

Virgin Atlantic – Great baggage handling

Another good example of creative ad placement in an airport, is from Virgin Atlantic in South Africa. To illustrate the great care their baggage handlers took when dealing with fragile and delicate packages they mixed fresh eggs with the luggage on the claim belts.

Folgers Coffee – Wake up New York

Visiting New York during the winter time, you will notice the smoke coming up from the subway all over the city. The creative agency behind Folgers coffee redesigned one of New York’s many manholes and created this clever street ad, “Hey City That Never Sleeps. Wake up, Folgers”

Mr.Clean – Clean pedestrian crossing

This ad is a perfect example of Keep It Simple, Stupid. Re-painting only one of the lines in the pedestrian crossing and adding the Mr. Clean logo, Grey Worldwide Germany makes a lasting impression that goes viral.

Becel – Stairs elevator

With the message: Take action. Love your heart, this ambient for Becel margarine (known as Promise is the USA) is spot on. Imagine the surprise when the elevator opens and they see stairs. Expect the unexpected.

Kill Bill 2 – Blood Ad

Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand went all out and drenched the streets (and some shiny white cars) in blood when promoting Kill Bill, one of the bloodiest things caught on film.

3M – Unbreakable Security Glass

3M was so sure their Security Glass was unbreakable, they placed 3 million dollars of cash between panes of transit glass treated with a shatter-resistant coating (Only $500 of real currency stacked on top of fake money;)

UNICEF – Don’t ignore me

Don’t ignore me! The advertising campaign by UNICEF is putting Chinas 1.5 million underprivileged kids in the spotlight. 3D street art by Ogilvy & Mather.
